About
Like so many Americans, our consumerist culture forces me to live check to check. This has caused me to seek out a new way to live my life. Not for more money or to lessen my carbon footprint, but more to get rid of the extras in an attempt to live a more stable and stress-free life.
But in order to go from one way of life to another, some huge changes first have to be made.
I found out about the Buy Nothing movement, and while it I think there is a lot of good to it, I don’t think it is possible for everyone’s unique situation. Take my situation for example — I’m a nontraditional college student with a part-time job, a wife and a two-year-old baby boy. Any of you who have a young child know that certain expenses can’t be helped, and that some things need to be done in order to maintain the parent’s sanity.
That is why my plan is goal driven more than anything, and my goals are outlined on the Goals page.
In any case, I hope you enjoy my blog, and the trials I surely shall endure on my year of ripping from me the American consumerist and trying to replace it with a happier, healthier and all around better me.
Thanks!
